James & Georgia have turned their love of horses into a lifestyle. Between them both, they have done the foot work gaining an educated knowledge and hands on experience working in the equine industry for over 10 years before starting their own business GT Sporthorses in 2010.
James Miller
James graduated from UQ Gatton with a bachelor in equine science and a scholarship to Germany where he spent 5 years riding dressage horses from breaking in to International Grand Prix level, along with learning the detailed management of the equine athlete . Upon his return to Australia James managed Goron Toron Stud & Belcam Stud where he was meticulous in over seeing all aspects of the stud farms from the breeding season to preparing horses for sale & competition.
Georgia Calvert
Georgia spent her formative years at HP Dressage & Belcam Stud where she formed her love for working with young horses. Adam Riess has had the most influence on Georgia’s riding, coaching her since 1997. As a young rider she was selected for the state dressage squad of Victoria. To broaden her horizons in the industry Georgia has worked on commercial studs and a spelling farm, having had some special horses in her care such as Cox Plate winner El Segundo. Her keen interest in breeding lead her to serve on the AWHA committee as President and ACE Group Inc committee as Vice President. Georgia spent 3 years working in Veterinary nursing where she gained invaluable experience.
